The big battle

Friday, May 30th, 2008

Nooooo!!! This is not about Euro 2008. This is the continuation of “My Story”, back due to popular demand. ;)

So this is Part VI??

Agency Cost is an economic concept on the cost incurred by an organization that is associated with problems such as divergent management-shareholder objectives and information asymmetry. In any organization it is very likely that there are divergent or difference between the objectives and motivations of its members, and htmy was not an exception.

Hattrick is a great game as such that people can play it in many ways, some can attempt to horde as much cash as possible, while patiently make the kill, while others might attempt to use as much as possible, its current resources to win. Some might place the interest on the nation first, while others their own club. I strongly believe there is no right or wrong way of playing a game, as you should be able to play it as you like, and attempt to achieve what you are enjoying.

The difference in goal, therefore lead to the divergent. In order to be efficient, local user who pull a potential U20 youth were requested to put the player on sale during off-peak time. The reason is simple, as this will allowed TBs less competition from foreign users to bid for the player. The cost, well, the player will be sell at a lower price, hence the original owner of the player gets less money. A small conflict? Well, big battles normally arise from a small misunderstanding!

So intense was the battle, for those who remember it, htmy lose many of its dedicated users….. and we have yet to recover.

We hold your balls (My Story – Part V)

“Tired of possessive girlfriends, join the TB-M! We improved your possession!”

Yeah, ok it might sounds lame, I was trying to beat eric aka boggieman signature of “Our strikers, your goal. TB-S!”. Well “We holds your balls.” sounds very catchy for playmaker trainers. No, no it wasn’t me, I think its Ch405 who come with the idea.

Being a restless person, (then?) I make it a habit of buying at least one Gen or Pre-Gen every season. Under the guidance of GM-Strong, U20 Malaysia qualify for the final (just like toong did recently), to my utter surprise, I receive notification that Mohd Rizallrudin was selected to be in the U20 squad. What a joy once I logged in to my hattrick account, not only he was selected to be in the squad, he did actually played!!! (selected is good enough for me then).

As success breeds success, the engine of U20 Malaysia was later passed to my other trainee Amlankusum and than later Bukhari. Something that I plan to continue later…. Unfortunately, I was not able to provide the engine for the current U20. :( Sorry chestmate!

I use Hattrick Buddy during my early hattrick carrier (Buddy doesn’t seems to be developed now, so I’ve switched to HAM and Hattrick Control), but what I have really gain from Hattrick Buddy is a buddy (and rival) in Hattrick Malaysia, the former NT coach and triple cup champion, redtooth . Yup, both of us was using hattrick buddy and one fine day I was trying to get discount to ‘pay’ for hattrick buddy, redtooth appears. :) And I assisted him to pay for hattrick buddy (maybe his credit card was very close to his limit).

As many would remember, redtooth was the TB-M head and he brought me in the new cabinet line-up, errr… I mean as a deputy.

So great was TB-M then, as we have many trainers who are willing to take part for the nation. Trainers will give their budget on how much they can spend and stay awake just to jet the players they want. Bidding orders were made by the Head/Deputy and back-up were assigned in case a particular trainer accidentally fell asleep and can’t be online.

Owners of youth are great too, and will normally list players outside of the peak hours and before the training update or cup matches. This was to ensure that the trainee get the best possible advantage for the U20.

Good times will come again, or would it?

Welcome To The New U-20 Coach!

The Election for U-20 Coach in Malaysia ended 03-03-2008 at 07.00 with chesmate of TechNod United (73205) emerging as the person to lead the U-20 to another interesting season.

HTmy would like say CONGRATULATIONS to chesmate and we wish you ALL THE BEST in your season as U-20 coach, make us proud!

On the side note, I still remember when I first joined Hattrick – I was plopped somewhere in Division III and chesmate was one of my league mates! Glad to still see him around!

Speaking of Election, Malaysia’s General Election 2008 is around the corner. :) Vote wisely, here’s a video for all of you!

My Story : What makes Malaysia Exciting? (Part IV)

Tuesday, January 15th, 2008

Now this looks like my blog now… Anyway…

Not many might still remember, tomo (who recently quit) was a U20 coach when I joined hattrick. It was the era of Gen 4, also it was the time when hattrick made changes in the format of world cup. As a result, the brilliant planning of the Malaysian Community was caught off-guard. Tomo was forced to face 20 year old opponents with 19 year old. It was the ‘locally trained’ policy era. In a desparate attempt to qualify, tomo enrolled few non locally trained players, a move that causes a crisis it htmy. There were threads that become sooo active critising etc… well I can’t remember the details. There were thread that was claimed to be deleted by the so-called moderaters.

But what makes it very interesting is what happens next, few people apologise, and the community forgive. I tought to my self, hey how different this is if this if the FAM and the press, things will be drag along long long way… but not here. Htmy continued learning from their mistakes and continue planning for the future…

I still remember, after such hard work, I manage to save RM1,000,000 for my team, I asked in htmy, “What can I do with RM1,000,000?”, the answer that I get was….. “A bungalow.”

bungalow

Htmy was then organized by the NTC (National Training Council) which comprise of the NT Coach, U20 Coach and the respective TB’s (Training Base) Head. Guided by many tips from htmy, one of which I really remember was that to always pull a keeper and trained keeper for newbie team has actually improve my team a lot. I manage to sell a 17 year old (third week?) keeper for RM1.5 million (later re-sold to goldfries), trained and sell one of two keepers, before losing patience and revert back to training playmaking. How can one afford training two players a week only?? : )

TBs during those days were really organized, potential players were posted in htmy and interested TB Trainers would post their budget for the players and indicate their willingness to train. One fine day, during the Chinese New Year holiday, when I just came back from holiday, I switched on my computer and suddenly realize that one potential players listed was almost due. Suddenly I got the urged to bid, luck has it, that maybe many others were still in their holiday, Mohd Rizallrudin became my first potential U20 players (Gen 06) under my wing, errr make that in the middle. My first adventure with TB-Midfielders begin…..

Next : “We hold your balls!!”
